About Us

The Fayette County Humane Society is an all volunteer, NON-PROFIT organization located in Fayette County, Georgia, approximately 30 miles south of Atlanta. Our programs are supported entirely by fundraising and the generosity of individuals who share our concern for homeless animals.

We are dedicated to ending the needless suffering of unwanted pets through our aggressive spay neuter program. We provide spay/neuter assistance and temporary foster care for rescued homeless pets until they can be placed in permanent loving homes.

Fall Yard Sale, Pet Adoption and Responsible Dog Ownership Day

The giant FCHS fall yard sale will be at the Tack Trolley in Fayetteville, (920 Hwy 85 South), between Rite Aide and the Ultimate Fitness Gym, on September 25th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you have any items you would like to donate to the event, please contact Kelly Vick at KellyVick@Bellsouth.net. Tax receipts can be provided for donations (No clothing, please). The pet adoption will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

In addition to our yard sale and pet adoption, members of the Atlanta Southside Kennel Club and their dogs will be participating in the American Kennel Club's Responsible Dog Ownership Day on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Tack Trolley, 920 Highway 85 South, Fayetteville, GA 30215. Come learn about safety around dogs for children. The ASKC members participate in many AKC events and activities. Also, come learn about activities for dogs and the responsibilities as well as the privilege of dog ownership. Take advantage of the opportunity to ask about care, training, and events.

A New Way To Help The Animals!!!

The Fayette County Humane Society relies on the generosity of individuals and local businesses to help us in our mission, however, these donations do not generate enough funds to accomplish our goals. For the past three years, we have held a fundraiser called Cause for Paws. This event consists of a dinner, live auction, silent auction and raffle, and while it has been a tremendous success, we need your support to make this an even bigger and better event! We are pleased to announce that this year’s Cause for Paws has been scheduled for October 9, 2010 at the Peachtree Wyndham Conference Center in Peachtree City!

We are seeking sponsors to assist us with advertising and marketing expenses for Cause for Paws in order to enable us to reach an even larger audience. A "sponsor" can be an individual, a small business, a corporation or an informal group of individuals such as a neighborhood where participants each contribute a small portion of the total amount, a bridge group, a soccer team, a scout troop, etc. Below is a chart showing four different sponsorship levels designed to fit all levels of donors. By taking an active role and sponsoring this event, you can better the lives of homeless animals in Fayette County and surrounding areas. The animals need you now more than ever before! As always, all sponsorships and/or donations are tax deductible.
